Who is responsible

Dr. M.C. Bourque Professional Corporation is responsible for personal information handled through this website. Dr. Marie Claire Bourque is the Privacy Lead.

Available now: the Curiosities newsletter, the inquiry forms described below, and email contact for speaking, media and coaching inquiries. Coming soon: Curiosities tools, guided exercises and Reset Starter. Their descriptions below explain the planned functions; they are not an invitation to use them before they open.

Please do not send symptoms, diagnoses, treatment details or other personal health information through website forms, newsletter replies or ordinary email. For clinical care and referrals, use the routes on the Clinical Practice pages. The disclaimer and crisis resources explain the limits of this website.

When you visit

Vercel hosts and protects this website. Loading a page sends ordinary request information to Vercel, including your IP address, browser details, the requested address and response information. These records help deliver the page, investigate problems and protect the service.

Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to selected public pages and reports totals by page, referring site, approximate location, device and browser. Clinical pages and individual tools and worksheets are excluded. The tools index may be counted. Page addresses sent for counting exclude query strings and fragments; referring addresses are restricted to avoid sending private links.

The counter does not use cookies or store your IP address for analytics. It uses a temporary identifier derived from request details, which Vercel says is discarded after 24 hours. This does not mean that hosting records or aggregate visit counts are deleted after 24 hours. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.

The website has no advertising pixel or visitor account.

When you subscribe to Curiosities

The website form asks for your email address and explicit newsletter consent. When you submit it, Vercel passes your request to Beehiiv, which manages Curiosities. Beehiiv receives your address, the public page or resource you joined from, the consent time and the wording version. The form does not ask for your name or health information. No request is made to Beehiiv until you submit.

New subscribers must confirm Beehiiv’s separate email before newsletter issues arrive. Submitting the form is not confirmation. If you previously unsubscribed, the form directs you to an explicit request to rejoin; it does not silently reverse your choice.

Every issue has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops newsletter issues but does not automatically delete subscriber or consent records. You can ask the Privacy Lead about deletion, subject to legal and record-keeping duties.

Beehiiv may also record delivery events and email opens or link clicks, depending on the newsletter settings. These events can be associated with your subscriber record and reported to the newsletter operator. This email measurement is separate from the website visit counts described above. See Beehiiv’s explanation of delivery and interaction events.

The website keeps no subscriber database and does not place your email address in a page address. Its application logs record request outcomes, not email addresses or message bodies. Short-lived, hashed request counters help limit repeated requests and expire after fifteen minutes. Beehiiv’s records and Vercel’s hosting and security records have separate retention periods.

When you get in touch

The Speaking form collects the contact and event details shown on the form: name, email, organization, optional event date and location, audience, preferred talk and format, attendance, budget and any optional message. This information is used to review and respond to your inquiry. Form submissions pass through Vercel and Resend to hello@dr-mcb.com; they are not saved in a website database.

The Media form collects your name, email, outlet or show, request and optional deadline. It is used to review and respond to your media request.

The coaching inquiry form collects your name and email, with optional role and professional context. It is used to respond to your request and contact you about coaching availability while your request remains open.

Email remains an alternative for each inquiry. Your email provider and the receiving mailbox process those messages. Website form submissions pass through Vercel and Resend to hello@dr-mcb.com and are not saved in a website database. A short acknowledgement may also be emailed to the address you provide. It contains no copy of your message and does not confirm a booking, interview or coaching place.

Dr. MCB and Meg are the authorized readers of the inquiry mailbox. Routine inquiry correspondence is deleted twelve months after resolution, including withdrawal of coaching interest, unless needed for an engagement or legal duties. Delivery records held by Resend and the mailbox provider have separate retention periods.

An inquiry can be used to respond about coaching and contact you about availability while your request is open. To withdraw your interest, email hello@dr-mcb.com. An inquiry does not reserve a place, create a doctor–patient relationship, or subscribe you to Curiosities or Limbus updates.

Tools and exercises — coming soon

The following describes the planned website tools. They are currently paused while work continues.

Your exercise answers. The Thought Lab and Drop Anchor keep entries in the open tab without saving or sending them. The guided worksheets keep answers in your browser; closing or reloading clears them. Values Duel can save progress in that browser when you turn saving on, and you can clear it in the tool. The Values Library provides material to browse. These website tools do not run exercise analytics. Ordinary hosting information is still processed when a page loads.

Optional Values email. You will be able to use Values Duel without email. If you request a results email, your email address, optional first name and five selected value names go to the separate Values email service and Resend. Your browser contacts that service directly, so it also receives ordinary request information, including your IP address, to process and protect the request. Private meanings, ratings and action notes are excluded. Optional check-ins require separate confirmation and include an unsubscribe link. A results email does not subscribe you to check-ins or Curiosities.

The separate site at values.dr-mcb.com is not closed by this website’s pause. It has its own notice, including visit counting. Progress saved there remains associated with that address and does not automatically move to this website.

Selected guided exercises

When email access is enabled for Signal → Route, Judgment → Boundary or Post-performance Debrief, requesting an access link will also require an explicit request to join Curiosities. These requests are unavailable while the tools are paused. The form sends your address, consent record and public source to Beehiiv; Resend sends a separate link to the blank exercise. Newsletter confirmation is separate, and an earlier unsubscribe is not silently reversed. Unsubscribing later does not cancel an access link already issued. Exercise answers are not sent with the request or access email.

Reset Starter delivery

When email delivery is enabled, Reset Starter will ask for an email address so Resend can send a download link. Requests are unavailable while the pack is paused. Curiosities signup is a separate, optional choice, unchecked by default, with separate confirmation. A newsletter error or unsubscribe does not remove pack access. Requesting a replacement does not require joining Curiosities. Your exercise answers are not needed for delivery.

Exercise and Reset access links use keys that contain no email address or answers and last up to thirty days. Anyone with a key can use it, so avoid forwarding a link you want to keep to yourself. A key may be kept in the tab’s session storage; without JavaScript it can be pasted into the access form. Downloaded files, saved browser progress, printouts and anything you copy remain under your control on your device or wherever you choose to share them.

Providers and storage

Vercel provides website hosting, security, form processing and the visit counts described above. Beehiiv manages newsletter requests, subscriber and consent records, confirmation and newsletter delivery. Resend delivers website inquiries and, when available, requested tool and download emails. Email correspondence also passes through the relevant mailbox providers.

These providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Resend stores customer data in the United States. Information processed abroad may be subject to the laws and lawful access powers of that country. Dr. M.C. Bourque Professional Corporation remains responsible for the personal information it handles through these services.

Security, retention and deletion

The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Ordinary email is not a secure channel for clinical information. There is no promise that internet transmission or storage is risk-free.

The website does not set its own cookies. Optional browser saving and access keys are described above. External sites and provider-hosted pages have their own notices and may use cookies. Leaving this website can involve different collection and retention practices.

Records held by a provider, including delivery records and backups, may remain after a website request ends. The inquiry mailbox’s twelve-month policy, the request counters’ fifteen-minute lifetime and access links’ thirty-day expiry describe different things. None is a promise that all provider records are deleted on that schedule. Information from earlier use remains covered while a feature is paused or closed. Contact the Privacy Lead to ask which records can be located or deleted.

Clinical information

This website does not collect referral contents. Its clinical pages direct eligible referrers to the practice’s approved Practice Better forms. The medical practice’s notices and secure processes govern clinical records, referrals and patient communication. This website notice does not replace them or describe the legacy Wix site’s data practices.

Your choices and requests

You can ask what personal information the corporation or its service providers hold about you, request access or correction, withdraw consent, or request deletion. Access, deletion and withdrawal are subject to applicable law and record-keeping duties. Stopping an optional service does not necessarily erase records that must be retained.

The Privacy Lead will confirm identity using the least additional information needed and check the systems relevant to your request. Access requests are generally answered within thirty business days, with any legally permitted extension or limit explained. Requests concerning clinical records follow the practice’s secure process. Do not include health information in an ordinary privacy inquiry.

If the response does not resolve your concern, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia about a privacy complaint or access review.

Effective date and changes

Version 9 of this notice takes effect on 2026-10-04 and replaces Version 8. It adds Media and coaching availability forms, newsletter signup within Home and Curiosities, and inquiry acknowledgement emails.

Version 8 of this notice was accepted by Dr. Bourque and took effect on 2026-09-30. It replaced Version 7, effective 2026-09-23. It distinguished current services, upcoming tools and information from earlier use. Existing newsletter, Values, resource and inquiry permissions remain separate.

This notice will be updated when the website’s collection, purposes, providers or available functions change. Opening a tool will not itself subscribe you to email or transfer your exercise answers; the choices described above remain separate.
