What to do when you keep replaying a mistake in your sport.
You miss a pass, make the wrong move or let in a goal—and keep reliving it while play moves on. Use this worksheet to write and practise what you will do next. Mistakes are part of professional sport too. Think of an NHL player after a missed pass: the useful question is what the next play needs from them.
About 10 minutes, then try it in practice.

Look inside
Actual pages from the pack.
Open a page to inspect it at full size. A text description appears below each preview.

Page 1 asks what happened, what you did or thought immediately afterward, and what you needed to do next in the game, race or drill.

Page 2 uses a fictional goalkeeper's example: say what happened; take a breath or make a small movement; look at what is happening now; tell yourself what to do; move, get set or speak. Then write your own steps. Breathing changes are optional.
